AFİFE, 2024
Client: Zorlu PSM, Afife Tiyatro

Afife Jale, Turkish actress. She became a symbolic name in Turkish theater by pioneering the presence of Muslim-Turkish women on the theater stage. In 1921, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the time, banned Muslim women from performing on stage with the declaration numbered 204. The Istanbul Municipality sent this declaration to Darülbedayi on February 27, 1921. The board of directors, desperate, removed Afife from the cast.
"Afife" is a theater play inspired by Afife Jale's life and treating her character as an attitude.
